The Tudor Black Bay 36 has all the vintage aura, but it is built using modern age specifications and quality process. The piece, as its name indicates, is a 36-mm steel-cased combination of vintage and modern Tudor designed elements.
The satin-finished case has a polished bezel and large Black Bay crown and contains a reliable mechanical movement - Caliber 2824 inside. On distinctive black or vivid blue dial resides the applied white triangle, rectangular and circular hour markers, familiar from past Tudor divers, as well as the sentimental snowflake hour hand and diamond-lollipop seconds hand.
Nevertheless, being a Tudor - it gives up nothing in the lume department. This one glows just as bright as any typical dive watch, including the other Black Bay versions. The final result is a truly distinctive tribute to the nostalgic era.
Its size strikes a good balance between elegance and sportiness. The Black Bay 36 wears incredibly well – its 36 mm stainless-steel case is perfectly comfortable on both male and female wrists. Just as importantly, it looks in proportion to the wrist, not overwhelming it or seeming too small.
The timeless dial gives it a modern edge and the oversized applied lume dots create a full and well-balanced dial.
Beside classic black dial, lovely hue of navy blue echoes those famous 70’s and 80’s Tudor Subs. Legibility is superb. The indexes are: triangle at 12, batons at 3 – 6 – 9 and large dots for the rest indices.
It borrows the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as the “snowflake” from models that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue. The result is a pleasure to look at – Tudor Black Bay is a real all-rounder.
The new Tudor Black Bay 36 is powered by the automatic-winding calibre 2824, a precise and dependable movement which will provide many years of accurate and reliable time keeping.
Desigend by the Tudor atelier, straps and bracelets create a great part of the design and feel. This is proven again with the Heritage Black Bay 36. Two color options are available: a nostalgic beige or classic brown leather strap with steel folding clasp or a sportier, but equally marvellously executed and very comfortable, steel bracelet with full brushed surfaces.
As usual, with the popular heritage collection an additional black fabric strap with buckle will be added to the box to complement the unique relationship with its collectors.
Over the years, atelier Tudor has a very special identity that separates them from other brands in the world of luxury timepieces.
