It’s the year of the Submersible watch at Panerai. Having long been a successful sub-segment of the Luminor collection, the Submersible is now stepping out as an individual collection. Still sharing many traits of the Luminor, the Submersible family will be the recipient of high-tech innovative materials developed in Panerai’s Laboratorio di Idee and will also bring something new to the mix in the form of experiences. For a long time, Panerai watches have been used exclusively by the Italian Navy.
Today, at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, Panerai presents spectacular experiences and new product concepts faithful to the brand original DNA. The brand has proved again its unique ability to infuse contemporary details in its iconic lines and generates enthusiasm among existing Paneristi, as well as the future collectors.
At the SIHH in Geneva, Panerai announced a new partnership with Luna Rossa, the official challenging team of record for the next running of the America's Cup. To go perfectly along with the partnership is a small range of special Luna Rossa dive watches with attractive Carbotech dial, designed to echo the latest in high-end sailing technology. Its strong personality is enhanced by the unidirectional rotating bezel for calculating the duration of a dive, also made of distinctive Carbotech, and the dial, whose special texture conceals a fascinating secret: pieces of the sails of the Luna Rossa applied to it. On the titanium back of the watch is engraved Luna Rossa logo and the America’s Cup profile. Attention to the details has proven by adding contrasting red accents on the dark monochromatic dial surface.
When it comes to functionality, Luna Rossa offers a three-day power reserve and a practical GMT function. The automatic P.9010 caliber, entirely developed and created in the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, has central hour and minute hands, the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock.
Created for the renowned world freediving champion, the limited edition version of this exceptional 47 mm watch will offer 15 collectors the opportunity to spend three days with Guillaume Néry in French Polynesia and join him on a pectacular experience - adrenaline dives to watch the whales.
The Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Editions itself is professional diving watch, water-resistant to a depth of 300 m (30 bar) and equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel.
It is the ultimate expression of Guillaume Néry, Freediving World Champion and his exceptional technical performance. In terms of design, the titanium case integrates perfectly with the blue of the ceramic disc applied to the bezel, the blue hands and the blue rubber strap. Exceptionally legible dial promotes shark grey color.
It is also a precision chronograph with fly-back function and the device for zeroing the seconds hand to enable perfect synchronization with a reference signal. Symbolically, in the back case is engraved Guillaume Néry signature.
Panerai Submersible Chrono Guillaume Nery Editions uses automatic mechanical movement P.9100 caliber with 3 days power reserve.
The new Submersible watches created by Panerai for Mike Horn, explorer of the extreme, are professional diving watch with a special 47mm case in EcoTitanium, a world premiere new material introduced by the Panerai ‘Laboratorio di Idee'.
This material, obtained from recycled titanium is used for the case, the crown’s protection device and the bezel, as well as the case-back. The strap is also made from recycled plastic in order to preserve the environment.
The 19-piece Limited Edition of the new Panerai Submersible Mike Horn Edition will offer its owners the opportunity to live a spectacular experience with Mike Horn, explorer of the extreme, to discover the importance of preserving the environment and saving the oceans. According to tradition, it offers 300 m water resistance.
The unidirectional rotating bezel enables the times of immersion to be calculated with confidence, while legibility in the dark is ensured by Super-LumiNova® coating applied to the markers and the large skeleton hands. Atelier Panerai uses in-house 3-day P.9010 automatic movement.
This year, the Laboratorio di Idee is introducing innovative new materials in the popular line. The Panerai Submersible Carbotech Marina Militare professional diving watches, water-resistant to a depth of 300 m, are extraordinary survival instruments conceived for the Italian Navy. This powerful watch fully deserves the designation Survival Instrument engraved on the back with the image inspired by frogman commandos of the Italian Navy. For decades, Panerai watches and precision instruments have equipped the commandos of the Italian Navy.
The Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech™ has decidedly military features, in both its character and its rigorous quality. The 47 mm in diameter case is made of Carbotech, a material based on carbon fiber, which was introduced into the world of high quality watchmaking by Panerai. It is both lighter than titanium and stronger than stainless steel.
The special composition of this material – consisting of extremely thin layers of carbon fiber bound together by a special polymer – gives every individual watch a unique, unrepeatable camouflage appearance, which is reflected in the design of the dial made of carbon, with the date window at 3 o’clock and the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock.
The rubber strap fitted to the watch is perfect for diving and very tough. Inside the watch is precise and reliable caliber P. 9010, consisting of 200 components including 31 jewels.
