Rolex Cellini Time Reference 50509

A study in timeless elegance, the Rolex Cellini Time is an exemplary display of the watchmaking values that define it as the finest dress watch. Superb wearability and legibility meet stunningly beautiful craftsmanship and nuanced details – fully liberating it from passing trends of fashion and placing it firmly in ageless excellence.

With a spot reserved in horological history, the Cellini Time combines Rolex’s watchmaking excellence with evergreen style

From precious, exceptional events to regular days of business, the Cellini Time excels as a timepiece of utmost elegance. Available only in 18ct white gold or 18ct Everose gold created in Rolex’s own foundry, the Cellini collection parallels the legendary Rolex Oyster collection. While the latter comprises a number of the brand’s other remarkable ranges, the Cellini collection showcases exclusively Rolex’s proudly classical offerings.

This time we have the pleasure of presenting the Cellini Time with a case crafted entirely from 18ct white gold, combined with a pristine white dial with 18ct white gold hands and appliques. Its effortlessly airy aesthetics bring to the fore a form of elegance that is impossible to emulate.

Its thin bezel – a timeless identifier of a highly refined timepiece – adds a touch of distinction different from that of all other Rolex timepieces by incorporating a unique combination of two Rolex trademark design elements.

Called the domed and fluted bezel, this intricately decorated 18ct white gold ring features the fluted pattern that Rolex first used in 1926 and made world-famous with its Datejust, released in 1945.

This circle of beautifully reflective facets is complemented by a domed and lustrously polished ring that directly surrounds the white dial.

The fluting is also present on the screw-down case back, which is domed as in bygone eras. The centre section of the case features gently curved lugs that narrow down – almost into a point – as they flank the black or brown leather strap. A discreet but important detail is how the curvature of the case is echoed by the curvature of the strap itself: in place of a straight ending for the strap in between the lugs, the leather is carefully wrapped around an arched bar by hand so that the strap and case together create a pleasantly integrated look. A bespoke touch, perhaps is not so obvious in isolation but which contributes greatly to the overall impression.

The clean, bright dial in white serves as the perfect background for the double-faceted, high-polished hour and minute hands that pass over it.

Likewise, the black print of the Rolex Genève designation at 12 o’clock, the italicised Cellini name at 6 o’clock, and the minute track all appear in stunning contrast over this crisp backdrop.

The elongated hour markers are split into two so that they incorporate the minute track – with Arabic numerals at every five-minute increment –, bringing this important feature closer to the tip of the minute hand, further enhancing readability.

The essence of a timeless classic, presented in polished 18ct white gold, 39 mm

Wound and set via a fluted crown in 18ct white gold, the Manufacture Rolex calibre 3132 powers the Cellini Time. Its 48-hour power reserve is replenished by the highly efficient Perpetual bidirectional self-winding system. Its oscillator features a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring. Notably, in watchmaking, blue hairsprings have historically been reserved for the movements of the most precise and exclusive timepieces, and the Rolex Parachrom hairspring perpetuates this tradition.

Like every Rolex watch, each individual Cellini Time timepiece is a certified chronometer whose very movement has passed the stringent tests of the independent COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute).

To gain the Superlative Chronometer designation, each Cellini Time is put through Rolex’s twice-as-stringent in-house accuracy tests and its quality control procedures encompassing power reserve, self-winding efficiency and water resistance.

The Cellini Time displays simply the hours, minutes and seconds, achieving the purest form of elegance in timekeeping

From the Rolex manufacture, the Cellini Time emerges as a timeless classic, engineered and tested for accuracy, and crafted with extraordinary attention to its finest details. Matched with a remborded and stitched alligator leather strap with large scales and secured by an 18ct gold buckle, the Cellini Time proudly ranks among the most elegant Rolex timepieces.

From precious, exceptional events to regular days of business, the Cellini Time excels as a timepiece of utmost elegance

A watchmaking icon of utmost discretion and peerless style, we would be delighted to show you the Cellini collection in our Petite Genève Petrović Rolex Boutiques in Budapest, Belgrade and Porto Montenegro.
