Rolex Day-Date 36
Reference 128235

Painstakingly perfected since its debut in 1956, the Day-Date 36 is available exclusively in solid 18ct yellow gold, Everose gold or white gold, complemented today by a wide variety of new dial options. This time we have the pleasure of presenting the Day-Date 36 in 18ct Everose gold, with a rosé-colour dial and diamond hour markers.

Striking the perfect balance between beauty and functionality has played a decisive role in elevating the Day-Date collection to its prestigious status. A breakthrough in dress-watch design at the time, the Day-Date has consistently been defined by inspired solutions to design and engineering challenges. The date display, highlighted by the iconic Cyclops magnification window, appears at three o’clock on the dial, while the arc-shaped aperture between eleven and one o’clock reveals the Day-Date’s other namesake feature: the day of the week. The Day-Date was the first waterproof and self-winding chronometer wristwatch to display the day in such an easily legible manner, in addition to the date.

The rosé-colour dial, crafted to perfection in Rolex’s dial facility in Switzerland, features ten diamond hour markers over a delicately brushed base. Each diamond in itself is a testament to the extremely rigorous selection and quality control procedures performed by the proprietary gemmology department of Rolex. Each has to meet exceedingly high standards in terms of cut, colour and clarity. Only the purest gems of the highest grade make it into the hands of the master craftspeople who are to carefully secure them in their solid 18ct pink gold settings.

Every external component – which includes the case, bezel, case-back, winding crown, bracelet and clasp – has been meticulously crafted from solid 18ct Everose gold.

Every facet of every piece is treated to its own designated finish. A constellation of polished and brushed, curved and angular surfaces create the inimitable lustre associated only with a Day-Date watch

The slightest movement of the wrist will elicit new reflections from the polished surfaces and show off the unique hues of its Everose gold material. Developed and cast in Rolex’s own gold foundry, Everose gold is a patented and exclusive 18ct pink gold alloy with a unique sheen, introduced in 2005 to preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches.

The smooth flexibility of its individual links allow the President bracelet to adapt to the shapes and motions of the wrist

It is only seeing it in reality that 18ct Everose gold’s special hue can be fully appreciated. A summer sunset will bring out its rose tones, indoor lighting might reveal its yellow gold origins and direct sunlight will enhance its genuine glow.

The ultimate Day-Date aesthetics meet superb wearing comfort with the evocatively named President bracelet. The smooth flexibility of its individual links allow the President bracelet to adapt to the shapes and motions of the wrist, while the seamless integration between case and bracelet ensures a secure fit. The concealed folding Crownclasp is the “crown jewel” of the solid 18ct Everose gold bracelet, with only a minute, yet beautifully finished Rolex crown discreetly marking the position of the opening mechanism.

Protected by the 100m waterproof Oyster case is the latest generation Manufacture Rolex calibre 3255, a consummate demonstration of Rolex technology.

With its fourteen patented engineering solutions, calibre 3255 debuted Rolex’s expanding series of new-generation movements, rendering the Day-Date collection the first to boast fundamental gains in precision, power reserve, shock- and magnetic resistance, ease of use and reliability.

A testament to Rolex watchmaking know-how and attention to the finest details, calibre 3255 features a date display that instantaneously changes at the end of the day, as opposed to a long date-change that may lead to misreading.

Like every Rolex timepiece, the Day-Date 36 reference is certified as a Superlative Chronometer – a timepiece that has passed both the independent COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) tests for movement performance, as well as Rolex’s twice-as-stringent in-house accuracy tests and its quality control procedures encompassing power reserve, self-winding efficiency and water resistance.

A watchmaking icon that blends form and function with unrivalled prestige, we would be delighted to show you the Day-Date collection in our Petite Genève Petrović Rolex Boutiques in Budapest, Belgrade and Porto Montenegro.
