Baselworld 2018: Meet Tudor novelties

Tudor is proud to present the newest additions to the 2018 portfolio. As the most popular family, Black Bay welcomes three new models adding new sizes, materials and functions to a line inspired by generations of diving watches. Besides updated Black Bay models, Tudor is at Baselworld also paying tribute to the brand’s early history with a new collection for women and men. Symbolically named after the year the brand was founded, the new Tudor 1926 offers a range of mechanical watches that are at once timeless and elegant.

Tudor Black Bay GMT

The Black Bay is without question the most successful contemporary Tudor. The brand's vintage-inspired watch now marks new territory with a classic travel complication. Presented at Baselworld 2018, Tudor’s famous Black Bay is now available with a respectable function. Tudor is expanding its Black Bay line by presenting a model with a highly functional complication: a multiple time-zone function – also known as a GMT function that establishes local time with two time zones.

Visually, Tudor Black Bay GMT remains true to its heritage. Fitted with the Manufacture Calibre MT5652, the new Black Bay GMT presents a eye-catching burgundy and blue bezel. Like other models in the Black Bay line, the GMT features a dial inspired by the Tudor diving watches produced during the 1950s. They also adopt the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as Snowflake that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue. With a steel case, 41 mm in diameter, the Black Bay GMT is waterproof to 200 metres.

Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight

The Black Bay line is the result of the subtle blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary watchmaking. Far from simply being an identical re-release of a classic, it brings together over60 years of Tudor diving watches. Now, Tudor is introducing an additional model as part of its Black Bay line, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, whose dimensions are similar to the brand’s first diving watches.

It is measured to suit slim wrists, people who like more compact watches and, of course, vintage enthusiasts. Simbolicaly, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is named after the year in which the first Tudor watch suitable for underwater adventure was introduced. It also comes in a new colour combination – a subtle variation on the aesthetics of the Black Bay family. The Calibre MT5402 with a 70-hour power reserve displays hour, minute and second functions and has been designed for medium-sized Tudor watches.
