Baselworld 2018: Introducing Rolex novelties

Traditionally, Rolex is showcasing many exciting timepieces at Baselworld. Like every year, Rolex managed to surprise enthusiasts and set new standards at Basel with a brace of five exclusive releases. Here you can discover exclusive novelties up close which include an updated GMT-Master II, two new Datejust models, exciting Cosmograph Daytona and imposing diving watch - new Rolex Deepsea.

Rolex GMT-Master II

As one of the most anticipated watch releases of the year, Rolex is now presenting timeless GMT-Master II. Originally designed for airline pilots, the GMT–Master II has a rich history dating all the way back to 1954. Designed to display the time in two time zones at once, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is the perfect watch for global travelers. Precise, reliable, robust and functional, it is a reference among watches with multiple time zones. In therms of design, over the years, its emblematic bezel has been presented in various colors - it is the signature feature of its unique and instantly recognizable aesthetics. Now, Rolex has updated its GMT-Master II version with its iconic design elements echoing the original design. For the very first time, the bezel with a graduated two-color Cerachrom insert in red and blue ceramic is available on the GMT-Master II in Oystersteel, with a Jubilee bracelet.

Inside the watch beats a newly developed calibre 3285, which promotes a total of 10 patents and impressive 70 hours of power reserve. Like all Rolex watches, the new GMT-Master II carry the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance.

Rolex introduced GMT-Master II this year in Everose Rolesor and 18ct Everosegold

Two other versions of the GMT-Master II introduce 18ct Everose gold to the range for the very first time. The first is crafted entirely from this refined, exclusive alloy, and the second is available in an Everose Rolesor version, combining Oystersteel and 18ct Everose gold. On the dials of both watches, the name GMT-Master II is lavishly inscribed in powdered rose. The bezels are fitted with two-color Cerachrom inserts in a black and newly developed brown ceramic.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36

Another legend makes debut at Baselworld 2018. Discover the new-generation of Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36. Launched in 1945, it was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date on the dial. As a symbol of the classic wristwatch, Datejust 36 now features redesigned case sides and lugs, and it is equipped with awesome calibre 3235.

This 2018 iteration harmoniously unite yellow gold with steel to achieve the mesmerising bi-color effect. Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31

Timeless white mother-of-pearl set with diamonds dial, confirms elegance and gracious style

The largest and most impressive watch show in the world - Baselworld had the real privilege this year. Rolex have revealed a brend new Datejust 31. It is no secret that the refined style of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 has everlasting appeal, in more gentle and compact size. Although classicaly styled, the new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 offers a redesigned case and a range of brand new, original dials.

Rolex is introducing the new generation of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31, with redesigned case sides and lugs. In 18ct white, yellow or Everose gold, the new versions are equipped with calibre 2236. Like all Rolex watches, the new-generation Datejust 31 carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, which is setting new technical standards and ensures excellent performance in every ocasion.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Without any doubt, the new Cosmograph Daytona is a real head turner. And while its not the first time for Rolex that motorsport inspired watch has received the colorful rainbow treatment, the mesmerising effect at Baselworld marks its premiere on an luxurious Everose version.

Truly avant-garde, Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18ct Everose gold is now adorned with shiny gemstones, including 36 bespoke baguette-cut sapphires in rainbow hues on the bezel. The impressive artistry on the case is also adorned with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds set into the lugs and crown guard, and the dial features 11 baguette-cut sapphire hour markers, each of which matches the color of the corresponding point on the bezel.

The chronograph counters are in pink Gold Crystals, a material with a particular shimmer effect, created during the crystallization of a pink gold alloy by means of a special process developed by Rolex. The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex and offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

The Oyster Perpetual Deepsea

The constant pursuit of excellence at Baselworld is confirm by promoting one of the most versatile and also the largest watch in Rolex catalogue - Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea. For 2018 season, Rolex is releasing a new chapter of Rolex Deepsea with a nice subtle refresh. Designed to resist extreme underwater pressure it features a 44 millimetre case with a subtle redesigned lugs and sides and a broader Oyster bracelet, as well as a conveniently adapted Oysterlock folding safety clasp.

In terms of design, the new Rolex Deepsea is made of Oystersteel and unique a D-blue dial with a deep-blue to pitch-black gradient tone. This professional divers' watch, is equipped for the first time with calibre 3235, at the forefront of watchmaking technology. This self-winding mechanical movement offers fundamental advantage in terms of precision, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetism, convenience and reliability, both on land and under the water.
